Now even though I’ve built web sites and web apps since 1997 (now mainly sporadic freelance and volunteer work), for various reasons I vibe coded both these sites. I make some mistakes but AI makes lots of mistakes, and I am not the greatest tester, so you will find bugs. Please report them to me. Thanks in advance for any and all bug reports, suggestions, constructive comments.
Vote Trump Lies:
The concept here is that the system pulls in stories about the lies of Trump and his administration. Now there will be some stories that don’t quite fit the agenda because at the moment these are pulled in from RSS feeds and not curated. Most of the stories are from factcheck.org, but we are testing politifact and considering others. I will be adding more admin curation functionality but I want to keep this as near as possible to an automatic, hands-off system.
You can find the latest Trump lies on the site, and vote up the ones your feel are the worst lies, or vote down the ones that you feel are among his lesser lies. You do not have to sign up, but if you do, you gain points for voting and climb the leaderboard, and whatever other perks I think of (and it helps me test things).
One thing on my radar is that the Washington Post has logged 30,000+ Trump Lies, and I’m thinking of a way I might want to incorporate it, possibly a separate section. As I understand the main guy has stepped down and when I looked the most recent lie was July 31, and since Trump lies all day every day, I’m not sure how well that fits in a news aggregation site, open to suggestions.
Worst Newz:
This one periodically asks AI (perplexity atm) what are the news stories with the worst news anywhere in the world.
I’ve had this idea for a couple years but really the rise of AI has made it more feasible to finally launch.
All news sites attract visitors by presenting bad news. What I hope this site offers is a quick way for you to digest the bad news in a short sitting so you can get it out of the way. Importantly, it aims to be very much global and unbiased. So, while Google News and the like do a good job at algorithmically presenting the bad news you are more likely to be concerned with, I hope to bring awareness to world news more equally.
Lastly, this is a sort of alpha-stage launch. Things are going to be changing fast so if something is broken please do let me know but also know that things are likely to be broken one minute and fixed already the next.
Over the last couple weeks I’ve been working on a couple social good websites which I want to slowly introduce a few folks to. First the sites:
